The TV portal was introduced to Facebook along with two other devices namely Portal and Mini Portal. The TV Portal also categorized Facebook as a smart device to interact with fellow users via video calling.

If the Portal and the Mini Portal are devices similar to tablet devices, the TV Portal has a different form. The TV Portal is a smart camera that can connect with a television and is shaped like an Xbox Kinect device.

The TV Portal can connect with the telly through the HDMI port. Then users simply log in on their Facebook account and can automatically make video calls through Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

The TV Portal has capabilities that can detect and recognize the movement of objects or users. The TV Portal is equipped with Facebook's intelligent camera technology so that it can follow and adapt to the direction of the movement of the object such as zooming in or zooming out automatically.

"This feature is especially useful for children who often come out and go into frames during video calls," says Facebook representative.

The device can also be activated using sound, such as Google Assistance. The user simply calls  "Hey Portal " and the device will turn on automatically and be ready to call.

In addition, the TV Portal also has Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities where users can add a number of filters when making video calls. Through the TV Portal, users can also watch a number of television shows such as Amazon Prime video or CBS All Access.

The TV Portal will be on sale on the coming November 5 with a price of 149 US dollars. Unfortunately, Facebook has not mentioned any of the regions that have first been part of this device.
